The Gold of Giral | True Story of the Giral Mines of Rajasthan। A Haaka TV Documentary!

One of Asia's largest lignite mining operations lies in the heart of Rajasthan.

For nearly 30 years, the people whose land became a mine have been fighting for something simple:
fair wages, safer working conditions, reasonable working hours, and dignity.

What we witnessed in Giral was difficult to ignore.

• Labourers working in extreme desert temperatures
• Families struggling after losing their livelihoods during the protest
• Workers demanding rights they say already exist on paper
• A movement that eventually claimed a life

But this is not just a story about coal.

This is a story about the people behind India's electricity.

When the "Black Gold" beneath Rajasthan powers millions of homes, who stands for the workers who extract it?
